Job Brief
As a Flower Picker, you will play a vital role in the agricultural sector by manually planting, cultivating, and harvesting floral crops. This position requires hands-on experience with various horticultural specialties and field crops, utilizing hand tools such as shears, trowels, and pruning hooks. Ideal candidates will possess strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently in outdoor environments. Previous experience in agriculture or horticulture is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest a variety of flowers and floral crops.
- Utilize hand tools including shovels, trowels, and shears for effective crop management.
- Till soil, apply fertilizers, and manage irrigation systems to promote healthy growth.
- Transplant, weed, thin, and prune crops to improve yield and quality.
- Apply pesticides and other agricultural chemicals as needed to protect crops.
- Clean, grade, sort, pack, and load harvested flower products for distribution.
- Construct and maintain trellises, fences, and farm buildings to support agricultural operations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in agriculture or horticulture is a plus.
- Ability to operate hand tools and farm equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong physical endurance and ability to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions.
- Basic knowledge of plant biology and horticultural practices.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines for chemical applications.
