Job Brief
The Bench Chemist is responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses or experiments in laboratory settings to ensure quality control, process optimization, and the development of new products. This role requires a solid understanding of chemical properties, laboratory safety protocols, and analytical techniques. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in chemistry or a related field, with practical laboratory experience and strong problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of chemical samples to assess quality and compliance with specifications.
- Design and execute experiments to develop new products and improve existing formulations.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and findings accurately and comprehensively.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and titration.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and troubleshooting efforts.
- Analyze data and prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting chemical analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in chemical analysis or product development.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices and quality assurance methodologies.
- Proficiency in analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
