Job Brief
The Barback supports the bar staff by ensuring a seamless service environment in a fast-paced bar or restaurant setting. This role involves facilitating food service, maintaining cleanliness, and replenishing supplies to enhance guest experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a keen attention to detail. A prior experience in food and beverage service is preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Assist bartenders by restocking bar supplies, including liquor, garnishes, and glassware.
- Clean and maintain the bar area, ensuring it meets health and safety standards.
- Facilitate food service by delivering food orders from the kitchen to the bar and tables.
- Remove dirty dishes, replace soiled table linens, and set tables for dining.
- Replenish supplies of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes as needed.
- Provide attentive service by serving items such as water, condiments, and coffee to patrons.
- Assist with inventory management by keeping track of stock levels and notifying management of shortages.
- Support the bar staff during peak hours by ensuring swift and efficient service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality is a plus.
- Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or food service environment preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, including cocktail preparation.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
- Food Handler’s Certification or similar is a plus.
