Job Brief

The Bacteriology Technician plays a vital role in supporting biological and medical scientists by conducting laboratory experiments to analyze organic substances, including blood, food, and drugs. Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment used in bacteriology analysis.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of experiments to study microbial organisms.
  • Monitor experiments and ensure compliance with safety and quality control standards.
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze biological samples, including blood, food, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Make detailed observations and document findings in accordance with laboratory protocols.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in microbiology, biology, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in bacteriology or clinical microbiology.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as microscopes, autoclaves, and incubators.
  • Proficient in data collection, analysis, and laboratory record-keeping.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
