Job Brief
The Automotive Brake Technician is responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and overhauling braking systems in a variety of vehicles. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive brake systems, diagnostic equipment, and the ability to perform complex repairs efficiently. Responsibilities
- Diagnose brake system issues using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Perform brake repairs and replacements, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Adjust and fine-tune braking systems to improve vehicle performance.
- Overhaul brake components, including calipers, rotors, pads, and lines.
- Conduct thorough inspections of braking systems to identify potential problems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours.
- Collaborate with other automotive technicians and staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive repair techniques and technologies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in automotive technology is preferred.
- Proven experience as an automotive brake technician or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of brake systems and components.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment related to brake systems.
- Strong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Current ASE certification in brakes is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
