Job Brief

The Automotive Brake Technician is responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and overhauling braking systems in a variety of vehicles. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive brake systems, diagnostic equipment, and the ability to perform complex repairs efficiently. Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance, along with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose brake system issues using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Perform brake repairs and replacements, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Adjust and fine-tune braking systems to improve vehicle performance.
  • Overhaul brake components, including calipers, rotors, pads, and lines.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of braking systems to identify potential problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours.
  • Collaborate with other automotive technicians and staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive repair techniques and technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in automotive technology is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an automotive brake technician or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of brake systems and components.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment related to brake systems.
  • Strong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Current ASE certification in brakes is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
