Job Brief
The Automatic Data Processing Planner is responsible for administering, testing, and implementing computer databases, utilizing expert knowledge of database management systems. This role requires a proactive approach to coordinate changes, identify and resolve database performance issues, as well as manage database capacity and scalability. Responsibilities
- Administer and manage computer databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Test and implement new database technologies and updates to enhance functionality.
- Coordinate changes to existing databases and document all modifications.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve database performance issues, including bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Monitor database capacity and scalability, recommending improvements as necessary.
- Plan and implement security measures to protect databases from unauthorized access and breaches.
- Collaborate with IT team members to ensure database alignment with organizational needs.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience with database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Strong understanding of database design, architecture, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in SQL and knowledge of database security principles.
- Experience with data backup and recovery strategies.
