Job Brief
As an Auto Upholsterer, you will be responsible for making, repairing, and replacing upholstery in vehicles, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Responsibilities
- Measure and cut upholstery materials to fit specific vehicle models.
- Repair damaged upholstery, including seats, headliners, and door panels.
- Install new upholstery, ensuring proper alignment and finishing.
- Select appropriate materials, such as leather, vinyl, or fabric, for various applications.
- Utilize sewing machines and hand tools effectively to create durable and aesthetically pleasing upholstery.
- Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring tools and materials are readily available.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences for custom upholstery work.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to enhance skill sets and service offerings.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Auto Upholsterer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of upholstery materials and techniques.
- Proficient in using sewing machines, hand tools, and other upholstery equipment.
- Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and craftsmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic understanding of vehicle interiors and structural components.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in upholstery is a plus.
