Job Brief

As an Author’s Agent, you will represent and promote authors in their professional endeavors, facilitating connections with publishers, literary agents, and other industry stakeholders. Your primary responsibilities will include negotiating contracts, managing business relationships, and providing strategic guidance to clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the publishing industry, and a passion for representing creative talent.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate contracts and agreements on behalf of authors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with publishers, editors, and industry professionals to promote client works.
  • Advise clients on marketing strategies, book proposals, and submission processes.
  • Identify emerging trends in the publishing industry and leverage them to benefit clients’ careers.
  • Manage client portfolios and provide ongoing support throughout the publishing lifecycle.
  • Represent clients at literary events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of copyright laws and industry standards to protect client interests.

Requirements
