Job Brief
The Atwcs Launch Control Group Replacement (Lcgr) Operation and Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in the effective operation and maintenance of advanced weaponry systems. This position requires a skilled technician with hands-on experience in targeting, firing, and maintaining various artillery systems, including guns, cannons, howitzers, missiles, and torpedoes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a thorough understanding of weapon systems, and the ability to conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure operational readiness.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain weapons systems, including artillery and missile platforms, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on weapon systems and associated equipment.
- Test, inspect, and store ammunition, missiles, and torpedoes in accordance with safety regulations and best practices.
- Establish and maintain effective radio and wire communications for operational readiness.
- Utilize weapons targeting, firing, and launch computer systems to execute missions effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure proper handling and storage of ordnance.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge of weapon systems.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or military training in weapon systems preferred.
- Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of artillery or missile systems.
- Strong understanding of military safety protocols and procedures related to weapons handling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Familiarity with radio communication systems and computer-based targeting systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also functioning independently.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel as required for field operations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
