Job Brief
The AOC Plans Guidance Apportionment and Targeting Officer plays a crucial role in the operational management of communications, detection, and weapons systems that support air, ground, and naval operations. This position requires an experienced professional with strong analytical skills and expertise in emergency planning, surveillance systems, and targeting operations. The ideal candidate will coordinate communication links between military branches, implement strategic emergency response plans, and ensure the operational readiness of critical military systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the operation of communications, detection, and weapons systems for air, ground, and naval forces.
- Coordinate and maintain critical communication links between air, naval, and ground units to ensure seamless operations.
- Formulate and implement emergency response plans for natural and wartime disasters.
- Evaluate command center information and determine requirements for high-level military and government reporting.
- Direct the operation of surveillance and detection systems to monitor threats and enhance situational awareness.
- Provide technical information and advice on military capabilities and operational readiness.
- Manage weapons targeting, firing, and launch computer systems to ensure efficient mission execution.
- Coordinate emergency response teams and agencies during crisis situations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Military Science, Defense Studies, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Proven experience in military operations, communications systems, and emergency planning.
- Strong understanding of surveillance and detection technologies and weapons systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for high-level reporting.
- Familiarity with military command structures and operational protocols.
- Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., Project Management Professional, Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act) are a plus.
