Job Brief
The Aircraft Painter is responsible for applying a variety of coatings and finishes to aircraft surfaces to ensure a high-quality, durable finish. This role requires expertise in operating spraying and rolling machines, as well as knowledge of various painting materials such as lacquer, enamel, and rust-proofing compounds. The ideal candidate will have experience in the aerospace industry and possess strong attention to detail, ensuring that all painted surfaces meet regulatory standards and aesthetic requirements.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate spray painting equipment to apply coatings on aircraft surfaces.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas as needed.
- Mix and match paint and coatings according to specifications and color standards.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality and adherence to safety regulations.
- Maintain paint equipment and workspace to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Follow all company safety protocols and comply with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals.
- Document work performed and report any issues to the management team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in painting and coating is a plus.
- Proven experience as an aircraft painter or in a similar role within the aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of painting materials and techniques, including spray painting methods.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in the painting industry.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain necessary certifications (e.g., OSHA training).
