Job Brief
The Aircraft De Icer is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of aircraft during winter weather conditions. This role involves de-icing aircraft, servicing with fuel, refilling water and cooling agents, emptying sewage tanks, and maintaining air and oxygen systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in aviation services or related fields is preferred, along with excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform de-icing and anti-icing procedures on aircraft to ensure safe departure.
- Service aircraft with fuel, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and guidelines.
- Refill water and cooling agents in aircraft systems as necessary.
- Empty sewage tanks and service air and oxygen systems to maintain operational efficiency.
- Conduct routine cleaning and polishing of aircraft exteriors to enhance appearance and maintain standards.
- Collaborate with ground crew and flight operations to ensure timely servicing of aircraft.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during de-icing and servicing operations.
- Monitor weather conditions and report any impacts on de-icing operations to management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in aviation services is preferred.
- Previous experience in aircraft maintenance, ground operations, or related fields.
- Knowledge of de-icing procedures and winter weather operations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate ground service equipment.
- Familiarity with industry-standard safety practices and regulations.
