Job Brief

As an Air Quality Technician, you will play a critical role in monitoring and assessing environmental conditions by performing laboratory and field tests to investigate sources of pollution that may impact public health. Working under the guidance of environmental scientists and engineers, you will collect and analyze samples of gases, soil, water, and other materials to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to protecting air quality.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory and field tests to monitor air quality and assess pollutants.
  • Collect samples of air, soil, water, and other materials for environmental analysis.
  • Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists and engineers to develop pollution control strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
  • Maintain equipment and instruments used for sampling and testing air quality.
  • Participate in environmental assessments and compliance audits.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to air quality management.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in environmental science, chemistry, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in environmental monitoring, laboratory testing, or a related role.
  • Familiarity with air quality standards, regulations, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate and maintain laboratory and field testing equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
  • Certifications such as Certified Air Quality Professional (CAQP) or equivalent are a plus.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and environmental monitoring tools.
