Job Brief
As an Air Conditioning Sheet Metal Installer, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing essential sheet metal components, such as ducts, control boxes, and drainpipes. This role requires a solid understanding of HVAC systems and hands-on experience in sheet metal work. Ideal candidates should possess strong skills in operating fabricating machines and welding equipment while ensuring high-quality standards in installation and repair tasks.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products, including ducts and furnace casings, in compliance with specifications and safety regulations.
- Install prefabricated sheet metal ducts for heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal as needed.
- Shape metal using hammers and other tools over anvils, blocks, or forms to achieve desired specifications.
- Operate soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts securely and effectively.
- Inspect and assess quality of finished products, ensuring seams and joints are smooth and free of defects.
- Collaborate with HVAC technicians and other team members to ensure seamless installation and operation of systems.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a sheet metal installer, preferably in HVAC systems.
- Proficient in operating fabricating machines, welding, and soldering equipment.
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles and installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and perform manual labor.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in sheet metal work and HVAC installations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in HVAC or metalworking are a plus.
