Job Brief
As an Agronomy Technician, you will collaborate with agricultural scientists to support research in plant, fiber, and animal sciences. Your primary responsibilities will include setting up and maintaining laboratory equipment, collecting and analyzing samples from crops and animals, and assisting in experiments aimed at improving crop yield and quality. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in agronomy, biology, or related life sciences, with hands-on experience in agricultural research methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Assist agricultural scientists in conducting research on plant and animal health, nutrition, and breeding.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory and field equipment for experiments.
- Collect samples from crops, soils, and livestock for analysis and record data accurately.
- Conduct tests to evaluate the growth, yield, and resistance of various crops and animals to diseases and pests.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Compile and analyze research data, preparing reports to summarize findings for review by senior scientists.
- Stay updated on advancements in agronomy research and agricultural technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Biology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in agricultural research or laboratory settings.
- Strong knowledge of plant and animal sciences, including breeding and nutrition.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and laboratory equipment.
