Job Brief
As an Aerial Hurricane Hunter, you will pilot and navigate fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters on non-scheduled air carrier routes, focusing on gathering critical meteorological data in hurricane-affected areas. This role demands a high level of technical skill, extensive flying experience, and the ability to operate under challenging weather conditions. Successful candidates will possess a Commercial Pilot Certificate and demonstrate exceptional decision-making and teamwork capabilities in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities
- Pilot fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters on non-scheduled air carrier routes to collect meteorological data during hurricane events.
- Navigate through severe weather systems while ensuring passenger and crew safety.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections and verify aircraft safety and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with meteorologists and ground crew to analyze data and enhance flight strategies.
- Maintain accurate flight logs and documentation in compliance with aviation regulations.
- Respond effectively to in-flight emergencies and implement emergency protocols as necessary.
- Participate in training and professional development programs to stay updated on aviation standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate ratings for fixed-wing aircraft and/or helicopters.
