Job Brief
The Video Control Operator plays a critical role in the production of live and recorded events by expertly setting up, maintaining, and dismantling audio and video equipment. Responsibilities
- Set up and configure audio and video equipment for live events, ensuring optimal performance.
- Operate video cameras and monitors during events to capture and relay high-quality visuals.
- Manage audio mixing and sound levels using soundboards and related equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on audio and video equipment.
- Dismantle and safely pack equipment after events, ensuring all items are accounted for.
- Collaborate with production teams to execute event plans and address technical needs.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements in audio-visual equipment.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment during events, adhering to all safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Video Control Operator or similar role in the audio-visual industry.
- Strong proficiency with audio and video equipment, including mixing boards and cameras.
- Knowledge of video editing software and live streaming technologies is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for event coverage.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Relevant certifications in audio-visual technology are advantageous.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as required.
