Job Brief
As a Tour Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting long-distance travel, tours, and expeditions for individuals and groups. This role requires extensive knowledge of travel logistics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage diverse groups of travelers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for travel, experience in customer service, and strong organizational skills to ensure a seamless experience for all participants.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of travel itineraries, including transportation, accommodations, and activities.
- Conduct guided tours, providing insightful commentary and ensuring an engaging experience for participants.
- Manage logistics and schedules to ensure timely departures and arrivals throughout the tour.
- Assist travelers with inquiries, resolving any issues that arise during the trip.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local vendors, hotels, and attractions to enhance tour offerings.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and travel guidelines to provide a secure environment for all travelers.
- Gather and analyze feedback from participants to continuously improve tour experiences.
- Market and promote tours through social media, online platforms, and networking events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Tour Director or in a similar role within the travel industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of travel software and booking platforms to streamline tour planning.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Proficiency in multiple languages is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
