Job Brief
The Tool Grinding Machine Operator is responsible for performing precision smoothing, sharpening, polishing, and grinding of metal objects to achieve optimal tool performance. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate tool grinding machines to sharpen, grind, and polish cutting tools and other metal components.
- Inspect finished products for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders to determine machining requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on grinding machines to ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Monitor production processes, adjusting as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Document production information and maintain records of completed work and machine settings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Tool Grinding Machine Operator or in a similar machining role.
- Proficient in operating various types of grinding machines, including CNC and manual models.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, metal properties, and tool geometry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including schematics and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
