Job Brief
As a Terrazzo Finisher Helper, you will support skilled terrazzo finishers in the installation, finishing, and repair of terrazzo flooring systems. This entry-level role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ideal candidates will possess basic knowledge of construction and finishing techniques, along with a commitment to maintaining safety standards on job sites.
Responsibilities
- Assist terrazzo finishers in preparing surfaces for installation, including cleaning, leveling, and priming.
- Mix and pour terrazzo materials under the guidance of experienced finishers.
- Help in the application of terrazzo systems, including troweling and smoothing surfaces.
- Support the finishing process by polishing and sealing finished terrazzo floors.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks on the job site.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or lead finisher.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
- Previous experience in construction or flooring installation is a plus.
