Job Brief
The Skycap is responsible for providing exceptional baggage handling services for travelers at transportation terminals and guests at hotels. This role requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, and physical stamina. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while efficiently managing luggage and ensuring a smooth travel experience for all guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist travelers with baggage check-in and retrieval at airports and transportation hubs.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of luggage onto vehicles and baggage carts.
- Provide information and assistance to guests regarding airport services and amenities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of baggage areas and equipment.
- Handle special requests for luggage, including oversized or fragile items.
- Monitor and report any lost or damaged baggage to relevant authorities.
- Collaborate with airport staff and hotel personnel to facilitate efficient baggage handling.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred.
- Strong physical stamina, capable of lifting heavy luggage and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with travelers.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of airport operations and baggage handling procedures is a plus.
- Proficient in basic problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Valid driver’s license may be required for transportation of luggage.
