Job Brief
The Security Guard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of security personnel to ensure the safety and security of the facility, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong understanding of security protocols, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a diverse team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in security management and a proven track record of effectively enforcing policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the daily activities of security staff and guards to maintain a secure environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify and address potential security risks.
- Develop and implement security protocols and procedures to enhance safety and compliance.
- Train and mentor security personnel on best practices, emergency response, and conflict resolution.
- Monitor surveillance systems and respond to alarms or incidents promptly and appropriately.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents and maintain accurate records of all activities.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure effective emergency response.
- Evaluate security personnel performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a security guard or in a supervisory role within the security industry.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, emergency procedures, and risk management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
- Valid security guard license and certifications in CPR and First Aid are preferred.
- Familiarity with surveillance equipment and security technology.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
