Job Brief

As a Tram Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating electric-powered streetcars or subway trains to transport passengers efficiently and reliably. Responsibilities

  • Operate trams or subway trains according to scheduled routes and timetables.
  • Ensure passenger safety by adhering to all operational protocols and safety regulations.
  • Monitor train performance and troubleshoot any operational issues that arise.
  • Collect fares and provide change, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers regarding service updates and delays.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of trams to ensure they are in proper working condition.
  • Report any incidents or emergencies promptly to the control center.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment on the tram or train.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in transportation or safety preferred.
  • Valid operator’s license and any required certifications specific to tram operations.
  • Proven experience in public transport operations or related field.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse passenger base.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficiency in fare collection systems and basic financial handling.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
