Job Brief

As a Topographical Surveyor, you will be responsible for making precise measurements to determine property boundaries and provide critical data related to the shape, contour, elevation, and location of land features. This role requires proficiency in utilizing advanced surveying equipment and software for engineering, construction, mining, and mapmaking purposes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of survey results. A background in civil engineering or a related field, along with relevant certifications, is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct topographical surveys to gather data on land features and boundaries.
  • Utilize surveying instruments and technology, including GPS, total stations, and laser scanners.
  • Analyze and interpret survey data to create detailed maps and reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers and construction teams to provide accurate survey information.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards during surveying activities.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation of survey findings.
  • Assist in the development of project proposals and feasibility studies based on survey results.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding survey progress and findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Surveyor (PS) license or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in topographical surveying and land measurement techniques.
  • Proficiency in surveying software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various outdoor environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal surveying regulations and standards.
