Hit or miss. A decade ago, I was looking for my first college counseling position and was paired with Ben Bolte. I received regular referrals and there were even times that I would apply to positions independently that I crossed wires with CS&A who would take up on the search. I interviewed or had at least one referral a month for 6 months straight and did secure a position that was part my network and CS&A referral. Second time around this year, I was once paired up with Ben. On one end, I felt I have become very experienced for my field but the thing holding me back was that I was restricted geographically. Despite applying for the same position level, I only had one interview that was promising but did not pan out. Ben’s messages for the feedback I provided were sent in text speech and he seems like a different person. I just feel CS&A isn’t working as hard for me as in the past. Overall, there is nothing to lose to see opportunities that the company is a part of but I find it surprising to have missed securing a position this year given my experience. On my own, I had 3 interviews in the same 6 month span. The economy is tough but my own interview success rate to me proves that my profile should have been easier this year than a decade ago.

Honestly one of the best companies I have had the pleasure of interacting with. I was skeptical at first, especially given that the service they offered was free on the educators/administrators portion, but they really helped me secure a job within 3 weeks of me giving them my resume, cover letter, and other job-application materials. They went above and beyond in referring me to schools only in the geographic locations, fields of expertise, and level of schools. A big shoutout to Julia Sinton, who was exceptional in being communicative (going above an beyond and even giving me an initial call to see what preferences I wanted in looking for a school that was the best fit for me!). Obviously, half of the battle is ensuring you have a strong job-application portfolio to secure a job, but if you want exposure, this company has been the best I’ve worked with thus far. Excellent service, amazing people, and I plan to work with them again in the future 🙂
