Job Brief
As a Terrazzo Grinder, you will be responsible for creating and finishing durable, decorative surfaces by applying mixtures of cement, sand, pigment, or marble chips. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of terrazzo flooring techniques. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in terrazzo grinding and polishing, showcasing excellent craftsmanship and a commitment to quality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning and smoothing areas before applying terrazzo materials.
- Mix cement, sand, pigment, and marble chips to create custom terrazzo mixtures.
- Utilize grinding equipment to achieve a level surface and enhance the aesthetic appeal.
- Polish and finish terrazzo surfaces to ensure a high-gloss, durable finish.
- Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain and troubleshoot grinding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Terrazzo Grinder or similar role in the flooring industry.
- Strong knowledge of terrazzo installation techniques and materials.
- Familiarity with grinding and polishing machinery and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in terrazzo flooring is a plus.
