Job Brief

The Telecommunication Lines Repairer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications cables, including fiber optics. This role requires a solid understanding of telecommunications systems and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve various technical issues. Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience in cable splicing, testing, and working with various telecommunications tools and equipment, along with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications cables, including fiber optic and copper lines.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on telecommunication systems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of lines to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Splice, terminate, and connect cables while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure timely project completion.
  • Document all repair and maintenance activities accurately for future reference.
  • Stay updated on the latest telecommunications technologies, tools, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in telecommunications preferred.
  • Proven experience in installing and repairing telecommunications cables, especially fiber optics.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights, if necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
