I found the staff at Salem to be rude and unprofessional. If they claim to recruit for executive roles but they don’t know how to speak with an executive, why would anyone give them any business? I am very disappointed and going forward, I will not engage them for our future needs. In specific, be wary of Debbie Aiola. She was rude to an executive Director ex-colleague of mine; who was trying to help Debbie. This colleague of mine was going to recommend her Boss, a head of the Compliance department. Debbie kept asking for a resume and then threatened to hang up. That is not how I would want my search firm to head hunt for our needs! The recruiters send out mass marketing emails, which Debbie must have done. Debbie did not match the jobs with prospective candidates before sending them an e-mail. She was lost when my colleague called her stating, “I just received your e-mail”. Debbie was not even courteous enough to say thank you, instead she said send me the resume or I will hang up! Candidates with 2 years experience or no experience are treated better at more professional firms! I would list my positions with Compliance Search Group the next time.
