Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Road Grader Operator to join our construction team. In this role, you will proficiently operate various types of power construction equipment, including motor graders, bulldozers, and front-end loaders, to excavate, move, and grade earth for infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to safety and quality assurance is essential for successful project completion.
Responsibilities
- Operate motor graders and other heavy machinery to perform grading, excavation, and earth-moving tasks.
- Ensure proper alignment, slope, and elevation of graded surfaces according to project specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members and site supervisors to plan and execute grading operations effectively.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while operating heavy machinery on construction sites.
- Document work progress and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Assist in the training of new operators on equipment operation and safety practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating road graders and heavy construction equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred or required.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle demanding work tasks in various weather conditions.
