I contacted WORKFORCE Staffing Solutions as I needed some help moving some furniture. I had a very good experience with Marty and Betty. Both workers that were provided did a great job for me. I will be using WORKFORCE in the future.

This place is some kind of joke. Luckily I am not in the same position as others where I need work desperately. I applied to a crane operator position on indeed, without knowing it was through a temp agency. The first phone call I got from Chris was while she was driving and was very short. I scheduled an appointment for 11am the next day. At 10am the next day she called and pushed it to 1pm. I had a number of questions for her, wage, hours and location. She told me the wage but did not have the other information. When I arrived I waited awhile and was then taken back to her office where I waited some more. During our conversation she told me the wage was actually lower then what I was told over the phone. She STILL was unable to tell me the hours of work. I explained that I am taking night courses and work a second job so this was crucial. She assumed that I just wanted the job regardless of wage or hours. I was told I would have to come to their office every morning to do an orientation/safety meeting at 6am for an undisclosed amount of days. When I asked if I would get paid for my time I was told No. Which is not legal or ethical, if I have to come to your office at 6 to COMPLETE THINGS for WORK, then drive to a job site I should be paid. I’m guessing they do not want to pay this as the client isn’t footing the bill. I was also told I would have to come back to the office everyday to get paid or Friday and collect 5 cheque’s. I called back to tell them I would not be taking the job and that it was wrong for them to tell the client they had a guy to start the next day without me taking it first. I received a call the next day asking why I didn’t show up…. after saying I wasn’t taking the job…. I understand the need for these places for unskilled labourers or guys down on their luck, or even addicts who need money. But it’s an absolute disgrace to try and fill operator jobs, skilled positions in this type of fashion. Alberta isn’t hurting that bad anymore, there are tons of jobs out there. Go somewhere else.
