They utilize some strange test that repeats the same 10-15 questions worded slightly differently each time. The tests take 1-2 hours total, with hundreds of questions in total. When I asked the recruiter questions about the company I was applying for, such as their CRM platform, he had no clue. As a matter of fact, I didn’t get to know much about the company at all outside of their own web page. There was no follow up, no responses when I sent the follow up instead. Wimbush claims that they’re a great resource for finding engineers conducive to the lighting industry, yet they contacted me through Indeed. Any company looking to recruit would be able to look on Indeed themselves. Why pay a premium for this service and negligence?

Absolutely ridiculous way of recruiting. Completely backwards way of operating/screening and lacks consideration for people’s time outside of the prospective candidates’ time. I suggest you guys figure a way to reverse the way you are screening candidates for open roles. I totally understand the need to screen people with an assessment test but to request career references before they even have the chance to speak to a prospective employer is ‘wasting’ everyone’s precious time. You must know that these references you request from the get-go are references that the prospective candidate will most likely be using in future job search efforts? To request references up front from people without even connecting the candidate for a call with a prospective employer is poor form of operation on your end and shows your lack of consideration for everyone’s time and care for the candidate you are working with. Guess you guys choose to be more interested in self-serving reasons than the candidates and that is not a good recruitment agency. Recruitment requires you to act and think and be considerate to a job seeker. When you ask for references up front, think about the time it takes time to request these – what do you think requesting these for you entails? Bingo! Time from ex-employers. These are usually company executives/ management/HR departments, who are extremely busy. How many times do you think a candidate can request references from these people and when do you think references should be asked for? Pretty rhetorical if you ask me. But I guess if it is up to your company or your Executive Recruiter, all this this doesn’t matter? You guys are just another recruitment agency that make people spin their wheels for no reason. Get your recruitment operation in gear or get that one Executive Recruiter to have more consideration for other’s time. It’s tough enough when you don’t have a job, don’t do that to people. It’s very inconsiderate. You need to re-assess what your goals are and how to look out for candidates are and ensure long term repeat business. Be a recruitment agency where you put you candidates best interest first not yours! Isn’t that the goal of a recruitment agency?

I’m always hesitant to work with recruiters due to bad experiences in the past, but Ian and the rest of the team over there were great. Thanks guys!
