If I could give zero stars, I would. I applied for a recently posted role for which I am highly qualified. After submitting my application, I called in to express interest and was told, “Wow, you have impressive experience,” and that Liz—who was handling the requisition—would call me back before the end of the day.
Unfortunately, that call never came.
I followed up the next morning and was told Liz was unavailable but would call me in five minutes. Again, no call. Six hours later, I called back and was transferred to Liz, which resulted in a 25-minute hold before finally speaking with her—only to be told I wasn’t selected for the role.
As someone who has worked with many talent consulting firms, I was surprised by the lack of communication and professionalism. Standard practice is to speak with a candidate before submitting their resume—asking questions and potentially making adjustments to better align with the role. That did not happen here.
This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I would not recommend Protec Staffing. Proper recruiter training, especially around intake processes and candidate engagement, is clearly needed. In an industry centered around people, I felt like just a number—and that’s unacceptable.
