I applied for a job at this company. The job description said that they are hiring worldwide, however, to my disappointment, I received a response that my application was not considered because of my current location. Why write ‘worldwide’ then? Provide a list of countries, for instance, the U.S. and Canada only, or EU only, etc. Or isn’t transparency one of your values? It’s very disappointing to spend time writing a cover letter, etc, and find out it wasn’t even considered. I also found a thread on Reddit where applicants were denied for ‘based anywhere in the world’ jobs because of their location.
