I had the privilege of working with Chief Phillips during my transfer process to the USCG. Navigating the complexities of this transfer was no small task, especially as the USCG now embraces the idea of accepting doctors outside of the traditional Public Health Service—a significant shift from its historical practice. CPO Moises Nunez and PO1 Ruben Ramirez did an outstanding job in helping me accomplish one of my life long dreams of earning a commission into the USCG. I was able to work with them virtually as I am AD USAF stationed outside the US. I was nervous on how communication would be, but the process went smoothly.
