In 2018, I used Robert Half in Portland to seek employment and they set me up with a great job at a great company, temporarily. The assignment was about to end and they lined up a new job for me, however the job I had been working offered me a full-time position with benefits that was a lot closer to home, so I took that job and backed out of the other. When I called the Robert Half rep, he was very angry and actually yelled at me for close to 20 minutes, saying this sort of thing never happens and nobody does this to them. The other rep on the call was nicer and said to call if I need in the future. Fast forward to 2020 when I moved to Eugene. I met with them and dropped my resume but they never called. I found a job, was laid off in 2022 and tried again. No return calls, no matter how many voice mails I left. I’m seeking employment again, have been calling and leaving voicemails for days, and no return calls. I’ve clearly been blacklisted. It’s extremely unprofessional to ghost a potential client and not have the courage to tell them you don’t want to work with them. It lacks integrity and courage. I’m a well-seasoned administrative professional who is highly marketable, so I know it’s not my resume. They are holding a grudge because I did something many have undoubtedly done by accepting a full-time job that started as temporary. I’m giving two stars because they did find me a good job in Portland. That I decided to keep until I moved to Eugene.
Update: The day after I left this review, Kristin contacted me after the owner ran interference for me (thank you!). We scheduled a Teams interview for today that I was unable to access. I tried everything. I called to let her know I was trying to get in and was told she was on another call. I asked if she had gone into the meeting thinking maybe she was stuck on a call and just hadn’t shown up yet and was abruptly told “she waited for five minutes!” Well, I waited for five years. I said I would wait for her to get off the call. The receptionist rudely stated it would be better not to and put me through to her voicemail. I’ve offered to come in, they didn’t seem interested in that. At this point, I’m no longer interested in working with this agency, I don’t want them making money off of me.
