I have been with The Maternity Nurse Company as a maternity nanny since 2000. During that time I have been placed with families in different parts of the UK and different parts of the world. Ruth and Millsie are very good at matching the right people with each family which is an absolute necessity in this line of work.

Both of my children have unfortunately had severe reflux, allergies and required various hospital stays. Four years ago I used the agency to help to get my son to take a bottle (he flatly refused and was rapidly losing weight). A fantastic troubleshooter had him on the bottle in less than 8 hours. More recently, we’d been in hospital with my baby girl for an extended period. She was now on a feeding tube, required to feed small amounts, slowly, every three hours, and required to be held up for 30 minutes after every feed. Both my husband and I were exhausted – trying to support our new baby whilst also caring for our older child, work, and recover from an emergency c-section. Millsie at the Maternity Nurse Company listened to our unique situation and helped to find us a brilliant maternity nurse who could help us during the day (with everything other than the tube feed itself). Our maternity nurse was warm, calm, confident and the perfect support system we needed. We have now booked a night nurse to support us with the tube feeding itself a few times a week and feel confident in the person Millsie has introduced us to. We are very grateful to the agency for their support and expertise during a very emotional and overwhelming time.
