This competition is amazing. They believe in keeping positive for these young dancer they make a environment where children/teens/adults are allowed to let themselves go and just dance and have fun… They always have a amazing panel of judges that are working professional in the industry with amazing artistry. They also give everyone a adjudication award so no one walks out empty handled. You can also sign up under a studio or independent your choice. I highly recommend if you haven’t attended a 8National talent competition or their sister company Motiv8 convention you definitely should you won’t be disappointed.

Our studio has been attending 8 National Talent for several years. It is a favorite of not only our staff, but our students and parents. Their staff is loving and caring to studios of all sizes and makes everyone feel important. Our students say that no matter where they place, they feel like the event was a positive and uplifting experience. Thank you 8 for giving our students a competitive experience that is positive! ❤

This competition illustrates that competitions are not awarded based on technique, flow or choreography. Judges award based on emotion and that is it. The competition at Summer Creek HS was an embarrassing display of head scratching judging. Every “judges choice” award was based on emotion and telling a story. The judges also punished those who remembered their entire dance and awarded those who forgot part of their routine. The top overall winner in Session 1 literally stood there for a couple of seconds mid routine trying to remember her choreography. She even said afterwards that she forgot some of her dance but finally just kept going. To top it off… It was supposed to be 12-14 years old NOVICE and there were at least four dancers 15+ and shocking…. They all won awards. It is very discouraging as a parent and for the student when they see what “wins” and it has nothing to do with what is right. Dance competitions should have more integrity and accountability and check the ages of those dancing to make sure they are in the right group.
