I recently experienced a stark difference in shipping costs when sending a box to a customer in Illinois. The pricing at the Postal Annex was outrageously high, and after reviewing the charges, I realized it was nearly 35% more expensive than simply going to the United Postal Service (USPS). While I can appreciate the added convenience and services that Postal Annex offers to its clientele, such as packaging assistance and additional options, their pricing feels excessive for basic shipping needs. It’s disappointing to see such a huge markup, especially when the USPS provides a more affordable and equally reliable service for shipping.
On several of my shipments, I asked to see what the least expensive option would be, every single one of them they stated that UPS ground was the least expensive and went on to tell me that USPS on some occasions was even a little bit more expensive for shipping for the same location/address, size and weight of box, and timetable. This is obviously and clearly not correct.
