Driver Advisory – Medical Certification Abuse Warning
Avoid this terminal. The medical provider used here has a documented pattern of attempting to diagnose drivers with sleep apnea without proper evaluation — including cases where drivers already hold a valid, current DOT medical card issued by certified examiners at other Swift terminals.
This terminal appears to have financial arrangements with select sleep clinics, steering drivers toward specific providers regardless of clinical need. These practices raise serious ethical concerns and may constitute a conflict of interest under FMCSA guidelines.
Know your rights:
Per FMCSA regulations, you have the legal right to obtain your DOT medical certification from any registered medical examiner listed on the National Registry. No terminal, employer, or examiner can compel you to use a specific provider or threaten your certification without documented medical justification.
Drivers should be aware that attempts to revoke or override an active medical card without due cause may be subject to regulatory complaint or legal action.
Stay informed, protect your certification, and report any coercive or unethical practices to the FMCSA National Registry Complaint System
Funny story. I came here to transfer from another terminal and the “Medical examiner” didn’t speak english at a conversational level. herded about 20 drivers to do examines in bulk in the same room, Men women everyone sitting 5 feet from each other. The office people said they can’t trust medical cards from nontrusted sources and my previous card was from a swift approved CDL medical provider. Anywho long story short they have a preferred sleep clinic and they flagged every single person in my hiring group for sleep studys. Even if they had a perfect 2 year card. Anywho stay away from these guys they’ve got backroom deals to make extra money off drivers sleep study’s.
