When I drove for Swift years ago, I enjoyed stopping at the Phoenix terminal. The food was decent, the driver lounge was relaxing, and the inspection lane did a great job, every time I stopped in. I wasn’t happy about it in the summer. Phoenix in August, for those who aren’t familiar, feels like you’re peeking in the oven while baking cookies. Inescapable dry heat.
As far as working for Swift goes, it’s not a bad place for an experienced driver. I had 8 years of experience before joining them. The freight was available, the delivery windows were huge, and it was possible to completely avoid driving after dark.

I like this Swift terminal the best out of the 15 or so I’ve been to thus far! Definitely bigger & more stylish than Lancaster as a close 2nd. Shop was fast and friendly. Love the truck wash. Gym is bannas! Lots of showers, both private & dorm room style. Laundry. Theater room was 😎. Hair cuts like what!? 😁 Can’t wait to check out the Cafe and Merch spot in the morning. Would be great if we had truck washes & personal items in the gift shops @ every terminal. Just sayin… Hint Hint.

DO NOT APPLY!!! if you have ANYTHING on your background. They lie and say that they will give you a chance to explain, security will call you, AFTER SECURITY TELLING YOU THAT YOU’LL GET THE JOB REGARDLESS OF YOUR BACKGROUND WHEN YOU GIVE YOUR EXPLANATION, you are LEFT IN THE DARK for 10 days while you’re practically fighting to make ends meet, almost starving, being loyal while waiting to provide for your family, then they REJECT YOU REGARDLESS of your explanation because of unprofessionalism and laziness. Even for misdimeanors that aren’t actually what they say they are. Robert M. You have played with my time, my money, and my family’s ability to eat.
