I received a call from a recruiter about a sub assignment starting immediately until the end of the school year (June). I accepted the assignment, what I didn’t know was how unprepared the recruiter was in following through. The recruiter drop the ball on so many levels, that I should have seen all the RED FLAGS. The recruiter reached out to me on 2/6; and asked me when will I be available to start the assignment, and I told her 2/10. But I would need the necessary onboarding paperwork before I start. She said I will have HR send you the paperwork today on 2/6. Lets just say that HR sent the paperwork via email on 2/7 (Friday evening). And it was quite lengthy. On 2/10 I arrived at the school, the first thing I noticed there were no security guards on the grounds. I just walked off the streets and into the school, no one stopped me or ask me for ID (nothing). That was the second red flag. When I finally saw someone; I asked for the person I’m suppose to meet with and was told that she is not here, she is at another site. I was like “hum”, so I contacted the recruiter and informed her and she said “let me call the person and I will call you back”. Well lets just say I waited for the recruiter to call back and “CRICKETS” (third red flag). So I called her (recruiter), she then said “oh I spoke with the person and she told me that you will be subbing for English”. I met with another person who was apologizing for the lack of communication, and she stated that there were a few teachers absent and that I would be needed for Spanish class. I told her I don’t speak Spanish, and I was assigned to cover for English. Well she looked so confused that she said I only need coverage for Spanish. I said I don’t know what to tell you but English is the assignment I was hired to teach. (fourth red flag) Now at this time I am beyond frustrated, no one knows what is going on and the lack of communication had me shaking my head. I contacted the recruiter and informed her; I told her that I am leaving the site and to remove me from this assignment. After explaining, she agreed and said call me when you get home. After I got home I was “livid” the time, transportation, and pure exhaustion after traveling over 1hr and 1/2 to this site for NOTHING. I called no one. As the week went on the recruiter didn’t even call me out of concern or even offered an apology for the whole ordeal. “NOTHING” I called the agency on 2/14 and briefly explained to shred all my onboarding docs. What a disappointment!!!

Highly professional staffing agency. Great place to work at if you’re interested in teaching K12 or looking for a side gig with great flexibility. Get paid timely every week. I really enjoyed working with my recruiter Zaina!
