I initially scheduled myself to complete an AHA CPR First Aid course on 2/1/2025 with APHE. The day before the class, I received a voicemail and email that the class was cancelled and that I should reschedule. However, with being a full time graduate student completing a full time clinical rotation, it took me a while to respond via email and voicemail. To add, I needed to complete this certification by the end of February, and none of the courses offered by APHE worked for my schedule. I do understand that it is stated on the website that all sales are final, but realistically it is irritating that I can’t get a refund for services that were never provided to me and that they cancelled the class on me, not the other way around. I would understand if I had cancelled the class, but that certainly wasn’t the case. They offered me the option to give the money I spent to someone else to take a course or find another class to take. I feel that it is unrealistic for many people to find a friend to give the money to or take a random class when I already got my certification somewhere else. I’m personally disappointed and I wish that as a small business, they would simply provide me a refund at this rate. I think going forward it would be beneficial for them to state on the website that if a class is canceled by APHE, that you will not get a refund. I would have never scheduled a class with APHE if I had known that was the case.
