Edited to add: GSG responded to this review that they offered support and worked with me on the start date. I have emails that show this is not true, no support was offered and the only email from them was that I would need a doctor’s note, which I was working toward getting before they sent an email stating they were looking for someone else. As well, this same role is still posted available and they are stating that they had to move on due to the urgent needs of the client – starting from scratch to find a candidate certainly takes longer than allowing me to recover from flu. They are progressively showing that they are dishonest. I was offered an assignment through GSG and most of the process felt wrong. To start, the pay rate and classification were a level below the role I was interviewed for. The pay adjustment was a few dollars, but it was still significantly below the number it should have been considering it required a professional certification. It was also posted as remote work, and after making the offer to me, I was told that training would be in office followed by a hybrid schedule. The remote option was why I accepted the lower pay. Even though the pay was not aligned and I would be making over an hour commute when I expected that the job was remote, I was excited to get to work and still wanted to take the position. I waited through the process patiently for a PO to be cut, to get the background screens, and for the start date. I was truly excited to get to work. I unfortunately got very sick when the role was finally scheduled to start. I absolutely did not choose to get sick, and as I am writing this a week later I am still recovering – I shouldn’t have to defend the fact that I was “that” sick, but this experience has made me feel like I do. (Keep in mind GSG supports those with disabilities in finding work, and common illness can have a more severe impact or longer recovery time for those with certain conditions.) The role was to start on a Thursday. I let them know I was sick, and the company who was bringing me on was completely okay with me starting the following Monday. The following Monday, I still had fever and illness present. I emailed my GSG recruiter to let them know I had not recovered yet. I was contagious, and would have gotten everyone else sick if I had chosen to come to work. I was looking forward to adding the experience to my resume, but the recruiter at GSG that I was working with informed me by email that they’d be finding someone else to fill the role. I understand the timing was not great, but humans do get sick sometimes. I inquired further by responding to the email, and they have not responded to me. I think anyone looking for work right now is under a lot of stress and can understand what a relief that offer felt like for me. I normally wouldn’t write a review because a job didn’t pan out, but this one definitely hurt and I feel that the company was not being straight with me from the start. I was so eager for work that I was overlooking all the red flags. Long story short, I would recommend going with a different agency.

Wouldn’t recommend, waited three weeks patiently. For the outcome to be thrown in my face with no job opportunity at all. Don’t give out any information to this company or you will be scammed.

Amazing. My day off from work I came to Goodwill to get help with housing. Wanted to help me out with that. Let me charge my phone for a little bit and I even got into my old investment account when I was in college my only day off and we will make it happen it’s a great place
