Would not recommend this agency.
Just got married November 2024 and gave up my career to move to Australia with my wife who already lives here.
I signed up with RPR to look for any kind of work to earn some income and they initially gave me employment with Logan Council as a gardener/mower. As soon I got to the site, I was told to leave as I didn’t have a white card. Come to find out, communication between the agent and the employer was so rubbish both assumed I had a white card. when I’m not sure how that happened because I do recall telling the agent at the job interview that I just moved into the country and am not familiar with their laws. Under the agent’s advice he told me to get a white and I did. And since then they have not even cared. I was left unemployed with an unused white card.
Two weeks later, they then give me another job at Fisher & Paykel. I told the agent I am happy to take this role but I will be in NZ for the weekend for family reasons and will be happy to start promptly on Tuesday. The agent said that was absolutely fine and that starting work on Tuesday was guaranteed. Come Monday, they called me and said the role’s been taken. No explanation as to why, no support saying they’ll look for another role for me. Absolutely no support from their end after the agent guaranteed me the role on Tuesday.
They have not rung me about any kind of role since and it’s been over a month. Luckily, I found another agency, Action Workforce, who actually communicates and cares about those under their care. Had I waited for RPR to find me work I would have remained unemployed for over TWO months.
