Overall great experience, typical of the excellent hospitality available in the Alps. Wonderful staff, a location that cannot be beaten, and a great pool/spa/sauna area. This is more of a 4.5 star review as we had a couple of relatively minor nitpicks. First, the food, particularly the dinner, was very ambitious—a full 5 course tasting menu with dishes that had an elegant presentation and very creative, unusual combinations and ideas. The problem was it often didn’t taste great—undersalted or a bit blander than you’d want. I wish they’d focus more on simpler, easier foods that taste good and make for a hearty post ski meal. Second, the hotel boasts an outdoor jacuzzi, called the sky pool, which is absolutely gorgeous in its location on the third floor overlooking a view of the valley. We, and I think most other guests given their reactions, expected it to be jacuzzi-level warm, especially since it was outdoors in the winter. Unfortunately it was not heated nearly enough, leading most people to take a very excited quick dip and then backtrack immediately back into the normal pool area. Again, the normal pool and spa area itself is excellent, but the coldness of the sky pool left us wondering what could have been.
