Stayed at the Hyatt Regency primarily for its proximity to the airport and the decent Google reviews, but overall, I found it a bit underwhelming. The room was very basic: standard bed, generic bathroom, and a very small coffee maker. This hotel is well-equipped for business travelers. There are plenty of ballrooms and meeting spaces, and two fitness centers — one open 24/7, the other until 9 PM — which was a nice convenience. There’s also a pool, though no lifeguard on duty, so something to be aware of if you’re traveling with kids. Also at the pool area, no food or beverage service is offered. You’ll need to take out food from the restaurant yourself, which felt a bit inconvenient for a full-service hotel. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting. The atrium is a pleasant space for breakfast or casual dining, and there’s also a bar and restaurant on site. Still, I felt the food quality didn’t quite match the pricing. One of the bigger drawbacks is parking — there’s no complimentary option, and you’ll need to pay around $40 per night unless you’re offered a guest discount. Overall, it’s a convenient airport hotel, but a bit too basic and overpriced for what you actually get. Would I stay here again? Probably not — but it did the job for quick two nights.

We (my husband, daughter, and I) recently took a short trip to San Francisco to meet up with my sister and her husband. They are both flight crew and were booked to stay at this hotel, which is why we chose it. I’m very glad we did! We got in very late at night (around midnight) with our very sleepy daughter. Mark got us checked in quickly and was so, so kind. He got us some bottled water and gave us a room with an absolutely beautiful view of the bay. The room was clean and had plenty of space for the three of us. Every employee we encountered was wonderful. The only things I would mention are 1) the walls are paper thin — on our last night, while we were trying to get sleep before heading to the airport in the early a.m., the room next door (with a connecting door to ours) had children who were screaming and carrying on well after quiet hours; 2) there is no facility to do your own laundry and it is very expensive for the hotel to do it for you (we also had to call to track it down when it didn’t show up on time, but they were very nice about it and got it right to us once we called); and 3) the location, while VERY convenient to the airport (with a very efficient and free shuttle service!), is not at all convenient to downtown San Francisco/the local tourist sites. We were aware of the location and that it would take a little effort to get to the things we wanted to see, but it is worth mentioning because transportation costs can get expensive (BART was down the first morning we were there and we ended up relying primarily on Lyft). Still, we found this hotel to be a fantastic value and when we come back to San Francisco, we will likely choose this hotel again.

The hotel rooms are very gloomy and smell like moth balls. The carpet was stained, the shower curtain was stained, the bathtub fills with water while taking a shower, the coffee machine did not work. The hot tub was broken. There is no valet, but you pay to self park. You hear everything in the halls. The restaurant area was a nice view, but everything else is gray and gloomy. The pool was heated so my kids did enjoy that. If you plan on exploring downtown San Fransisco, this is a horrible location, it took us about an hour and 20 min from the hotel to Pier 39. There is a cute area just 2 miles away that you can get a variety of food from and walk around.
