I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the unprofessional handling of my recent application and employment process for the Mailroom Team Member position with Iron Mountain. Following an assurance of an ongoing contract scheduled to commence on Monday 4th of November, I complied promptly and in good faith with every documentation request, including submitting four forms of identification, providing four referees, and sharing my banking details and tax file number and completing a 62 pages induction.
After completing all these requirements, I was abruptly informed today Friday 1st of November by a Randstad consultant before the start date that the position I was promised had already been filled. To add to the frustration, I was offered an alternative role with a late shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM—a schedule I had already specified was unsuitable and if the “maybe” candidate starting at 6am doesn’t accept the role that I would be next in line.
Thats disgusting!
This experience has left me feeling that my time, effort, and trust were disregarded. I expected a more reliable and respectful process from Randstad, especially given the thorough documentation I provided at your request. Being treated this way just before the agreed start date is both disappointing and unprofessional.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as it reflects poorly on Randstad’s professionalism and ability to follow through on commitments to candidates.
