Believe the reviews, Dr Lin is a true professional and that’s why he’s so well regarded in the orthopedic community. I have been dealing with severe snapping scapula for 3 years now and it had completely ruined my life at the ripe age of 21, I spent my 21st birthday in bed with debilitating neck and shoulder blade pain. I had gone to numerous orthopedics, sports medicine doctors, shoulder specialists, who all wasted my time sending me to get mris just to tell me they were negative, prescribe me 4 weeks of pt, then when I’d go back and say I need more pt or maybe the mri missed something they’d get egotistical and offended and tell me to go elsewhere or just offer me cortisone injections and painkillers without really trying to help me recover long term. Dr Lin is different he wants to see me recover long term and return to my active lifestyle. Dr Lin sat me down and explained to me that while the negative MRIs can be frustrating because I don’t have clear cut answers for the condition that’s destroying my life, that it’s actually a blessing because it means there is nothing going on with me thats super serious that would cause permanent damage like arthritis, osteoporosis, full tears, etc, which means that a full recovery is 100% possible once we get to the bottom of my condition. this finally gave me hope and has made me determined to fight for my life. I quit smoking, I started eating like a bodybuilder, started physical therapy with Phil at apex pt who Dr Lin recommended, in the two months since I started pt I’ve gained a lot of strength back, I’ve seen very small improvements in pain and function, I still have a very long road to recovery left but I wouldn’t want any other doctor taking care of me. Dr Lin is also very humble for how smart and successful he is with his reputation as a renowned orthopedic surgeon, when I bring forward my own theories and ideas he takes them into account and thoroughly explains why he agrees or disagrees with me respectfully. For example I asked him if a diagnostic anthroscopy or ultrasound would be helpful to diagnose my issue and he said that it would not be helpful because we do not know what we are looking for or what we’re trying to operate on so surgery would only make me worse instead of helping, and for the ultrasound he explained that the ultrasound is about as accurate as the mri so if the mri isn’t detecting anything it’s unlikely the ultrasound would and he didn’t wanna waste my money billing me to recieve yet another negative test. Dr Lin is so dedicated to learning the human body and helping his patients so much so that he’s even spoke to me outside of office hours to ask about a diagnosis from a shoulder specialist he recommended I see. The shoulder specialist believes my neck and shoulder issues are caused by thoracic outlet syndrome/radiculitis and referred me to a thoracic outlet syndrome specialist. Dr Lin is humble enough to admit that he doesn’t know enough about thoracic outlet syndrome and agreed I should consult with this specialist and asked that I contact him with the specialists diagnosis, I’ve never had a doctor this dedicated to helping me and it warms my heart. As for his staff the ladies are super personable and friendly while still maintaining a professional medical environment, they always answer calls right away, never have any issue waiting on orders or paperwork from them, and are always pleasant to speak with. I don’t know how I could ever repay you Dr. Lin and Irvine orthopedics I am slowly climbing out of depression thanks to your help, I spent my 21st birthday miserable but now there is a light at the end of the tunnel and look forward to possibly spending my 22nd birthday in good health, I still have a long road to go and things to uncover but I have an amazing doctor behind me who wants nothing more than to see me at my best, thank you Irvine orthopedics!
