I had to share this because I’ve never been through such a horrendous and arduous interview process in my life and this company needs to be called out.
I had 6 interviews with People 2.0 (yes, really) for a Marketing Specialist role between February 2024 – June 2024. This included:
– 2 initial interviews with Regional Marketing Manager
– For the 3rd interview, I was tasked with presenting a marketing plan I had created back to the Regional Marketing Manager
– An interview with the Director of Marketing
– An interview with the Sales Manager and his colleague
– An informal interview with the Sales Manager
By the time the company had suggested a 4th interview I was getting red flags however I was receiving really good feedback throughout the process, so I didn’t want my efforts to go to waste, particularly as I had put a lot of time into the presentation task.
The whole process was extremely dragged out and, in the end, they didn’t offer me the job.
This company clearly has zero respect for candidates’ efforts and time. When they could finally be bothered to inform me I wasn’t successful, the feedback given was very vague, and reading between the lines, it sounded like during the hiring process they’d realised they needed someone more senior than myself (despite 7+ years marketing experience).
They also said they weren’t “sure about me”. It’s actually laughable as these clowns clearly aren’t sure about anything if it takes them 6 attempts to make a decision on mid-level role – you’d think I was interviewing to be their Director!
Plus, the salary they were offering was well below the market average in Australia. You guys are an embarrassment.
