I had the privilege of working with Corey Y. Having been contacted by several recruiting agencies during my career, I truly believe that Corey is the perfect model for a recruiter. From the very beginning he was kind, empathetic and committed to assisting me with acquiring the position. I was never in the dark about what was happening, because he kept in constant contact. I am so grateful for Corey’s assistance; together WE landed a great job!

Next Step recruiting should change their name to Miss That Step Recruiting. Zero transparency and terrible follow up. Don’t waste your time interviewing with this firm. They are basically interviewing candidates to fill up their calendars and justifying their position. Be better to your candidates please!

I’ve thought long and hard about how I want to word my review. 1 star would be unfair as I had a pleasant experience, up to a point. I was working a specific person who was a treat to work with. She was very kind and communicative. I expressed the frustrations I was having with this search and she put me at ease as we walked through the process. She managed to secure me with an interview at a company I was quite interested in working with and felt both interviews went well. On a Friday I received a call from her telling me they wanted to make an offer, however, I would have to meet with a specific person first and requested my availability. I provided that information and never heard another word. I gave it several days and attempted to reach out via phone and eventually email and again nothing. I just kind of said ok maybe that one isn’t for me. It happens. About a week or so later I received a phone call from someone claiming to be her manager and saying she didn’t work there anymore. The job was still mine, I just needed to meet with said person and what’s my availability. I once again provide my availability and once again got nothing but silence. It’s hard enough out here for those of us who have been searching for jobs and have been unemployed for an extended period of time. Being told someone wants to hire you and then being ghosted not once but twice by the same company just rubs salt in the wound. I understand people get busy and things happen, but to have the same thing happen twice makes it seem to me like there’s a problem internally. I don’t think they deserve a 1 star as every one I spoke to was polite and friendly but I can’t give more than 2 because I may be a job seeker but I’m still a customer and this was just poor and disappointing customer service. I’ve moved on from the situation but please remember people have dignity and treat the with respect.
